Evacuations from countries hit by natural disaster, through to extractions from war zones or countries where trouble has erupted unexpectedly.
Emergency evacuations can be necessary from countries that have been hit by a natural disaster, where road moves are unsafe, through to extractions from war zones or countries where trouble has erupted unexpectedly – trapping travellers in unstable and unsafe locations. Evacuations and Repatriations commonly involve an injured party, at Solace we have the resources and experience to act quickly with getting your travellers to safety.
Our global partner network are able to provide assistance from secure road moves to providing vessels and aircraft depending on the severity of the incident and the needs of those involved. Solace Global have vast experience of both security and medical evacuations in some of the most difficult circumstances. Solace have supported numerous short notice tasks assisting with both evacuations and repatriations.
One of our most notable examples was evacuation support during deadly clashes between rebel and government troops in South Sudan July 2016 and more recently out of Yemen 2020 with both the conflict and COVID-19 pandemic to contend with.
CASE STUDIES
Two international contractors were caught up in the deadly clashes between rebel and government troops, both sustained life threatening injuries; multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, with a collapsed lung and multiple shots to the leg, both with the onset of septicaemia. With airports and borders closed, the two injured victims were moved by vehicle (with armed security) to our carefully selected remote landing site where the medical helicopter was waiting with two doctors to medevac to a selected hospital in Kampala, Uganda.
Sailor suffered a head trauma at sea. Brought to shore in the Sevastopol, in the contested Crimea territory. Our client requested us to support a medical repatriation, which would require an air ambulance. Due to the political climate at the time, clearances for aircraft to land were significantly difficult and required multiple flight sectors and secure ground transport.
