Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated QA Engineer to join our dynamic software development team working with leading-edge technologies to build innovative products.

The Quality Assurance Engineer role is a critical role within the agile software development team that will collaborate with cross functional teams. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and results driven team to ensure  that only high quality of software is delivered to our ‘blue chip’ customers.  

In this role, you will be actively involved in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including the design, development, test, and release. You will be accountable for ensuring that the  products, are reliable by creating appropriate test cases, automated testing and manual testing plans.

  • Develop effective test strategies including test plans, test cases and continuously enhance the test processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and usability.
  • Perform thorough functional, regression, integration, and system testing to identify defects to ensure software stability.
  • Report bug and errors to the Development team and document steps necessary to reproduce the issue.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define acceptance criteria and provide feedback during the development process to improve product quality.
  • Perform root cause analysis of software defects and work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and identify potential quality issues early in the development lifecycle.
  • Replicate and troubleshoot customer-reported issues, document steps necessary to recreate the issue and coordinate the resolution.
  • Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, by sharing knowledge and expertise with other team members.
  • Report on quality trends and identify methods to improve quality
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices, to drive continuous improvement in QA processes.
  • Test Design and Execution – Design test scenarios based on functional specifications and tracking defects

Required competencies:

  • Working knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Ability to write and execute automated tests using testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, or similar).
  • Familiar with modern frontend frameworks, especially React.
  • At least 3 years of experience working as a QA Engineer or Software Tester, or a possess a degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies including black-box, white-box, and grey-box, and quality assurance principles.
  • Proficiency in writing clear and concise test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and team-oriented.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C#, JavaScript, or similar) and SQL

Marketing Executive

Solace Global Risk is recruiting for a Marketing Executive to join their already well-established team, to play an important part in the ongoing marketing strategy.

Purpose of Job

We are looking to expand an already well-established marketing team. You will play an important part in the ongoing marketing strategy and work within the global risk division of a risk management company based in Poole, Dorset. You will have the opportunity to influence the day-to-day content marketing operations. This role is for you if you’re not afraid to voice your ideas, you have a flair for creating engaging content and have a keen interest in technology, current affairs and global security.

Create and implement content in line with the marketing strategy, ensuring relevant KPIs are met.
Take ownership over the social media and digital communications strategy, with engaging and informative communication material, including thought leadership articles, social media posts and video content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Marketing Manager and SEO team with ongoing website updates.
  • Build and test email campaigns with an analytical approach.
  • Support the planning of industry events, webinars and podcasts.
  • Ensure brand direction through visual communication and tone of voice aligns with company ethos and values.
  • Scan competitor websites and digital media on a regular basis to identify opportunities to advance the service offering.
  • Support the marketing manager to create effective branded collateral with copywriting and design for sales materials, slide decks, brochures and bespoke client material etc. Further support channel partners with sales material.

What skills are we looking for?

This role is suited to someone with exceptional written communication skills, that can write compelling content to engage a corporate audience. Prior experience of working on B2B marketing campaigns would be an advantage.

This role is a junior to mid-level position, so ongoing support and training will be provided by the Marketing Manager. However, the ideal candidate will be highly organised, can work autonomously and will have had some experience working with;

  • Writing blog posts or articles
  • Updating websites using WordPress CMS or similar
  • Creating email campaigns in platforms such as Mailchimp or similar
  • Creating design assets for social media campaigns in Adobe
  • Will have some knowledge about CRM systems and lifecycle marketing

Offshore Marine Coordinator

Solace Global Maritime are currently recruiting highly motivated, experienced security personnel adept at offshore risk management, for a vessel-based project in the UK that started in June 2022. 

The project will run until December 2023. Contractors are not required to remain on task for the entirety of each phase, however, the minimum tasking period will be 30 days. If you are willing to deploy for longer than the initial 30 days, please let us know on application.  

All personnel will conduct training with Solace Global Maritime prior to the project starting.

Solace Global Maritime has now mobilised guard vessels for an offshore project in Scotland.

Once complete, the project will allow for the export of renewable energy generated from Shetland to the UK mainland, connecting Shetland to the nation’s electricity transmission system for the first time.

We are proud to be able to utilise our extensive, and proven, offshore risk management capability over the coming months.

Our first two weeks on project are off to a flying start, with one guard vessel getting involved in a Maritime and Coastguard Agency training exercise, and another being fortunate enough to spot a pod of orcas.
