The largest union in Argentina, the General Confederation of Labour (CGT), has announced plans for a general strike on 06 April 2017. This call comes after a series of protests which have occurred across the country, and in Buenos Aires in particular, over the past few months. The Secretary General of the CGT has said that the strike is ‘irreversible’.
