Emergency Evacuation from India Following Flash Flooding
Solace is trusted to support individuals during natural disasters and security incidents, drawing on extensive experience delivering coordinated evacuations in complex environments. Our approach combines operational oversight with clear communication, helping organisations meet their duty of care while ensuring those affected feel supported throughout.

Coordinated Ground Evacuation in a Remote Region
Our operations team made immediate contact with the individual to confirm their safety and understand their location, needs, and onward plans. Drawing on our established network in the region, we engaged a trusted local partner and arranged for a 4×4 vehicle to be deployed, crewed by a security-trained, English-speaking driver suited to both the terrain and the operating environment.
Spanning over 500 kilometres, the journey from Banala to New Delhi required careful planning and a flexible approach. To support both safety and continuity, the evacuation was structured in two stages, including a planned rest stop and driver change in Chandigarh. For the overnight portion of the journey, additional personnel were introduced to provide oversight and maintain consistency throughout.
Throughout the transfer, our Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) remained actively involved. Operating continuously, GSOC maintained real-time visibility of the journey, tracking progress, monitoring local developments, and ensuring that communication between all parties remained consistent and secure. This oversight allowed the team to adapt to changing conditions and provide support at each stage of the evacuation.
Clear Communication and Duty of Care Support
At Solace, we recognise that incidents of this nature extend beyond the individual directly affected. Clear and structured communication plays an important role in supporting wider duty of care responsibilities. Our team ensured that relevant stakeholders were kept informed through secure channels, providing timely updates and maintaining transparency throughout the operation.
This approach reflects our commitment to delivering reassurance through clarity, ensuring that those connected to the situation remain informed without adding unnecessary complexity during an already challenging time.
Travel Risk Support that Goes Further
In the early hours of the following day, the traveller arrived safely at a hotel near Indira Gandhi International Airport. The operation was completed as planned, with continuity maintained despite the disruption caused by the flooding.
This evacuation is a strong example of Solace’s people-first approach in action – combining local knowledge, constant oversight, and responsive communication. Whether supporting insurers, corporate clients, or individuals, we’re here to help organisations meet their duty of care and provide the reassurance their people need, wherever they are.
